JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: MANAGING DIRECTOR (Washington, DC)

About Us: Impactual LLC is a social impact consulting firm. We help causes, philanthropists and brands address some of the most pressing political and social challenges. Our clients include individual and institutional philanthropists, Fortune 500 companies, and high-impact nonprofits. Impactual has offices in Washington, DC and Denver, CO, working with clients and subcontractors across the country.

The Position: Impactual is growing its team and looking for an experienced Managing Director to oversee the firm’s operations, people, and projects. As Impactual’s Managing Director, you will ensure smooth management of our clients’ projects; grow and support our team; and oversee financial operations.

Scope of Work: The Managing Director will be responsible for –

  • Planning and implementing long term strategies to achieve Impactual’s objectives, including: a supportive and collaborative work environment; the highest quality work product; a strong hiring and on-boarding process; and competitive compensation packages.
  • Coordinating staff (some remote) to ensure client projects are well managed.
  • Reviewing written and designed work product prior to submission to clients or stakeholders.
  • Looking for opportunities to create efficiencies in the firm’s processes.
  • Setting budgets and forecasts, and meeting with the external accounting team on a regular basis to review the firm’s financial performance.
  • Implementing new processes and procedures across the firm.
  • Attending meetings and events on behalf of the company as needed.

Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have –

  • Experience developing and managing organizational priorities, budget, cash flow, and staff;
  • Demonstrated success working with people from different backgrounds and growing high-performing teams;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills and experience managing numerous project simultaneously;
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills;
  • Thorough understanding of the current political landscape;
  • Ability to work with people of different backgrounds and create a work environment necessary to drive positive social change.

Location: This full-time, exempt position is based in Washington, DC.

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation will range from $100,000-$130,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Impactual offers a generous and competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, & vision insurance premium reimbursements; an annual retirement contribution; monthly cell phone and wellness stipends; sick, vacation, and paid family and extended medical leave.

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: DESIGN MANAGER (USA)

Position Overview: Impactual is looking for a talented, hard-working Design Manager to help our team create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. As Design Manager, you will brainstorm creative concepts with the project team, develop original designs, and participate in client presentations. This is an opportunity to define and reinvent the way we deliver work product.

Scope of Work: The Design Manager will –

  • Work closely with colleagues, clients, and contract developers to determine requirements and schedule projects.
  • Conceptualize visuals for and execute final designed work products including: reports, memos, presentations, brochures, websites, and social media.
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas effectively.
  • Create memorable storytelling visuals for client projects.
  • Proactively recommend new formats and tools to leverage in client projects.
  • Develop a unified brand language and champion consistency across visual design assets.

Desired Qualifications: To be considered for this position, professional graphic design experience is required. A passion for politics and/or social impact work is helpful. In addition, we are looking for someone with:

  • Experience designing for various platforms, including: documents, decks, websites, and social media graphics;
  • Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator programs, with the ability to translate beautiful designs to products created in Pages, Keynote, and Powerpoint;
  • Ability to translate complex written information into infographics;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills and experience managing numerous project simultaneously;
  • Incredible attention to detail and appreciation for clean layouts;
  • Ability to create and manage a file delivery and archiving system;
  • Comfort working on a dynamic team, often with quick turnaround requirements.

Location: This full-time, exempt position can be based anywhere in the United States, with preference for Washington, DC or Denver, CO.

Compensation and Benefits: Compensation will range from $60,000-$90,000 per year, commensurate with experience. JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER (Washington, DC)

Position Overview: Impactual is hiring an experienced political strategist to support the firm’s donor advising practice. The Partnerships Manager will be responsible in equal parts for conducting research, preparing written materials, and performing administrative tasks. The Partnerships Manager should enjoy project management and be enthusiastic about supporting political and civic engagement projects.

Scope of Work: The Partnerships Manager will –

  • Help create and maintain systems and processes to support Impactual’s donor advising work, including tracking contributions and ongoing client communications.
  • Research, track, and update 2020 election dates, declared candidates, and spending data in the firm’s database.
  • Help create materials for client communications, including drafting and editing emails, memos, and presentations.
  • Stay current on news, trends, partners, and clients.

 Desired Qualifications: This position is for an early-to-mid career professional. At least two election cycles of political or civic nonprofit experience is required. In addition, we are looking for someone with:

  • Incredible attention to detail and highly organized;
  • Demonstrated success setting goals and remaining accountable to them, following through 100% of the time;
  • Excellent time management, and problem-solving skills and experience managing numerous project simultaneously;
  • Strong writer with a proven ability to adapt to draft various types of content including: social media posts, emails, reports, and decks.
  • Thorough understanding of the current political landscape.

Location: This full-time, exempt position is based in Washington, DC.

Position Overview: We are looking for someone with a passion for driving civic engagement to join our small but growing team as an intern. As an Social Impact Intern at Impactual, you will research and analyze social issue areas; develop reports, presentations, and other memos; and assist our team as needed.

Impactual is a small firm and we’re an all-hands-on-deck team. This role will be responsible for other duties as needed.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have –

  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and work in a dynamic team;
  • A strong interest in advocacy, research, philanthropy, and/or social entrepreneurship;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Self-directed learner who can figure out software, new policy topics, or other items without significant instruction.
  • Commitment to working in diverse coalitions, in terms of race, gender, age, and political viewpoints.
  • Technology: Fluent with Google Docs, Keynote, Canva, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Excel.

Compensation: This position pays $15/hour.
